Red locks lost for leukaemia

The 17-year-old Kardinya resident has carefully cultivated her flowing red hair for more than a decade.

She’s now preparing for a drastic change in an attempt to raise money for the fight against blood cancer as part of the annual World’s Greatest Shave.

“My cousin Kelly was diagnosed with leukaemia when she was 11 and fought bravely to now be in the clear two years later,” she said.

“But she has lost a lot of hospital friends to cancer on the way.

“My hair is now past my waist and she has inspired me to have it all cut off and donated to be made into wigs for cancer patients.”
