The awards are an annual competition for members, who range from children aged four to members who are more than 80 years old.

Judges Peter and Georgia Efford awarded prizes for mastery of technique, effective use of colour, interesting design/composition, and innovative/imaginative/original thought.

The judges' comments said Andruszkiewicz's artwork absolutely captured the mood and reflected her responsiveness to the nature of water and the bush.

A variety of art included traditional and contemporary works.

The winner of the best traditional work was Carol Richards with her pastel piece Classic Beauty. The best contemporary work winner was Hilda Klap with multi-layered mono print New World.

The Junior MCAA Awards were judged in three age group categories.

The winners were Taylor Walker (four to eight years), Samara Ainge (nine to 10 years) and Bianca Clifford (11 plus years).

The MCAA Awards exhibition continues until August 23.

The Gallery is open from 10am to 4pm from Monday to Saturday and 1pm to 4pm on Sundays.
