Security guards in duck rescue at Fiona Stanley

The alarm was raised when visitors to the hospital’s car park noticed a distressed mother duck circling the drain and quaking.

Serco’s David Lim, Brian Begg and Paul Bradshaw wasted no time in getting into the drain to rescue the ducklings.

The team removed the top of the heavy drain and Mr Bradshaw climbed down into the drain to carefully collect the ducklings.

After returning the ducklings to their mum, the rescuers escorted the family back to the hospital’s lake park over the road.
