Sparkling pendant the jewel in Starlight crown

Emma Clayton, Melville TimesMelville Gazette

During the time Janina Gelbke was a patient at Princess Margaret Hospital, jewellery designer Terry Hunt visited the Starlight Room weekly for six weeks to offer guidance while Janina and other patients worked on designs.

Her design was chosen and the finished product will be auctioned on September 12 at the Starlight Five Chef Dinner at Pan Pacific Hotel.

Four jewellers, Luke Jackson, Riki Tait, Tony Scasserra and Jim George, from Booragoon’s Verity Jewellers, volunteered a total of 60 hours to create the piece, which features yellow, white and rose gold and 0.59 carat of diamonds, including a 0.32 carat Passion 8 diamond.
