EXPRESSIONS of interest for stallholders at the Applecross Rotary Jacaranda Festival have opened with a flood of applications.

The Applecross Rotary annual event will take place on Ardross Street on November 24 with people promised a day of entertainment and goodies.

Festival organising committee member Kate Zappa said they had the capacity for about 145 stalls on the day.

“We have already had about 150 applications since applications opened at the start of the month,” she said.

“We will take applications until July 31 but we are looking for a good mix of local stallholders and other diverse stallholders.

“It’s important to get a good mix of stallholders because they really make the day alongside the entertainment that we have from local schools and community groups.”

Ms Zappa said money raised from the festival went back into making it a success each year.

“We are now into our 17th festival, so it’s a well-oiled wheel, although we like to tweak a few things,” she said.

Sophie’s Silks owner Sophie Cowell said she had been a part of the festival multiple times and it was always a special day.

“It’s the best time of year as it is close to Christmas,” she said.

“There are so many people local people and people coming from all over Perth to check it out.”
