A trip to Nepal last year, where Amy Wilson-Chapman saw life firsthand in one of the world’s poorest countries and its lack of schooling, prompted her to lead the charge in fundraising for the Save the Children’s Nepalese projects.
‘The cash we raise is going to help not only build schools, but staff them, provide kids with much needed materials and everything else that is required to educate them,’ Ms Wilson-Chapman said.
Fundraising is well underway for the local trekkers who will climb 5486m to the base camp of Mt Everest.

This Saturday, Ms Wilson-Chapman and her team will host a Nepalese Style fund-raising dinner at a traditional Nepalese rest-aurant in Ardross.
‘It will also give people a small taste for Nepalese culture. The chef is from Kathmandu and their momos (dumplings) are amazing, just like the ones I ate when I was in Nepal.
‘It’s a three-course meal and part of the $80 ticket price goes to Save the Children.’
Amy will also sell pashminas (scarves) from Nepal and Tibetan Prayer flags.
