Teaching children financial skills makes sense at Makers Kids Club

THE Kidpreneur Showcase, held at the East Fremantle Yacht Club on April 30, featured budding business operators aged seven to 16.

More than 20 kidpreneurs from across Perth ran 11 businesses, selling jewellery and beauty products.

The children learned their skills at The Makers Kids Club, conceived by Money School owner and author Lacey Filipich.

“I believe the earlier we teach children how to manage their money, the better,” she said.

The Showcase enabled children to test their products and business plans.

The Maker Kids Club provides an online learning course for children to study basic finance management with their parents at home.

The course will open on May 23.

The Makers Kids Club has also been nominated for a Project Robin Hood grant from the City of Melville.
