Teenage boy arrested over fire at Melville Primary School

ARSON Squad detectives have arrested a 15-year-old boy in relation to a fire that caused significant damage to Melville Primary School.

At 7.25pm on Friday, January 6, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services advised WA Police of a fire at the school on Curtis Road in Melville.

Police will allege a group of five juveniles including four boys and a girl aged between 15 and 17 years gained entry to the school grounds, and the charged 15-year-old lit a fire in a bin.

The Brentwood boy has been charged with Breach of Duty and is due to appear before the Perth Children’s Court on Wednesday, January 25.
