THEATRE enthusiasts can catch Melville’s up-and-coming crop of thespians performing once a month at Applecross District Hall between now and in November.

Nicknamed the Tivolettes, the junior ranks of the Tivoli Club of WA boast an exceptionally talented cast this year and have managed to pull together a full show to entertain audiences.

Club president Sandy Sharpen said It’s Showtime was aimed at the young and the young at heart and featured a lot of Disney music.

“Tivolettes provides an opportunity for young performers to gain regular stage experience in a non-competitive, friendly environment,” she said.

“The club and Tivolettes is run entirely by volunteers and all directors and choreographers give their time freely to develop our young talent.

“All the kids in the show are between the ages of four and 13 and the feedback so far from people that have seen it has all been really positive.”

The Tivolettes perform on the last Sunday of every month from May to October at 2pm, with a special evening performance at 6pm on Sat, November 26.

Entry is $3 for adults and $1.50 for children, except for the August show when all tickets are $5 and 100 per cent of door takings will be donated to the Telethon Type 1 Diabetes Family Centre.
