MORE than 80 volunteers took advantage of a break in the wet weather to take part in a community planting day at Jeff Joseph Reserve in Applecross on Sunday.

Around 2000 sedges were planted on the morning, with people of all ages pitching in to help improve the foreshore.

The Waylen Bay Sea Scouts in particular were out in force on the day.
