The plan will replace the 2001 one in an attempt to improve and expand the path network in Melville. Now only 1.5 per cent of trips in the city are by cycle, but City officers said the plan hoped to improve that number to 3 per cent.
Priority projects include path construction along the eastern side of the Kwinana Freeway between Mt Henry Bridge and Farrington Road, upgrade to the shared path along Melville Beach Road from South of Perth Yacht Club to Conon Road and upgrade South Street to improve bike paths.
The City would continue to work with the Transport Department to receive Perth Bike Network grants.
