WADUMBAH Dance Group brought an infusion of Aboriginal culture to Applecross Senior High School last week.

Year 10 student Kylee Pearson began proceedings with the acknowledgment of country as the whole school community turned out to watch the Noongar group dance, tell stories and play the didgeridoo.

Led by James Webb, whose indigenous name is Gumbiardi, the group has represented Aboriginal culture in Australia and overseas on numerous occasions.

The performance culminated in an opportunity for students and staff to join in on the seagull and ocean dance.
