THE City of Melville’s tractor naming competition seems to have been inspired by recent events.

Rather than Tractory McTractorface dominating the votes, the winners were Wave Park, Roe 8 and Dardy Sing.

Mayor Russell Aubrey took to the Facebook to claim that there would be a wave park at Tompkins Park, although it was probably not the one he wanted.

The City recently purchased three Massey Ferguson tractors which will be utilised by its Parks Team for the mowing of public open space and for minor turf renovations.

The tractors are used to tow large mowing machines which cut grass to a high standard for areas such as cricket ovals and the 200 plus parks and reserves in the City.
