When Harry met Trudie: Leeming couple celebrates 65 years of wedded bliss

LOVE is still in the air for Leeming couple Harry and Trudie Goldsword, even after 65 years of marriage.

The couple celebrated the milestone on May 20 surrounded by friends and family.

Daughter Alison Dijkstra said her parents moved to Perth from Holland in 1953.

“They’ll also celebrate 65 years in Australia during October and they have spent all of their time living in the City of Melville area,” she said.

“They lived in Mt Pleasant before moving to Leeming – it’s always been a special area for them.

“My dad wanted to move to Australia when was 18 because he was a builder and he didn’t want to work in the rain but his dad made him wait till he was 22.”
