Ability Idol will give contestants the chance to perform in front of a live audience at Kadidjiny Park in Melville.

Supported by a $10,000 grant from the City of Melville Robin Hood Project, Ability Idol is the brainchild of Ben Cox.

For Ben, Ability Idol is a personal mission.

Currently working at Activ in Wembley, Ben dreams to be an event organiser. Ability Idol will give him the chance pursue his passion and help others with a disability achieve their dreams.

Many people living with disability love music and love performing but dont get the chance to show their gifts and talents, Ben said.

It gives people living with a disability a chance to perform in front of a live audience, which is great.

Im really excited to bring Ability Idol to life and hope that by taking part, people with disability will get the chance to achieve their own dreams.

Registrations close on Friday, December 11.

To enter, budding performers need to submit an online video of their performance, with the top six finalists selected to perform in the open-air concert at Kadidjiny Park on Saturday, February 27.
