Young and old united in remembrance day

The event included a short march, the last post and reveille, laying of wreaths and an address by the Army Museum of Western Australia manager Captain Wayne Gardiner.

Those in attendance included Deputy Mayor Duncan Macphail, Applecross RSL sub-branch president Greg Hunter, Bateman MLA Matt Taylor and Tangney MHR Dennis Jensen, as well as dozens of school students.

Mr Hunter said it was wonderful to see so many young people turn up for the service.

‘It’s great to see the memory live on in the younger generations,’ he said. ‘Anzac Day is a time to commemorate the lives that were lost and the trials and tribulations resolved for the life we live today.’
