AN elderly friend decided not to give a present to her new grandchild, instead opted to open a bank account for the baby. However, it wasnt as easy as the dear lady thought it would be.
At her local bank, she told the teller she wanted to open a bank account for her new grandchild.
The teller then asked if she had the childs birth certificate and passport.
Dumbfounded, my friend repeated that the child was a newborn baby.
It was not possible to open the bank account.
What has happened to the days when children had a moneybox that you could get from a bank?
When the moneybox was full, children took it to the bank and opened their first bank account.
