Poor report on new Wireless Hill war memorial

Harvey R Everett, BooragoonMelville Gazette

TUCKED insignificantly away on page 24 of the May 10 edition can be found a 71-word article covering the new war memorial at Wireless Hill.

Never mind that the RSL state president was present or the Mayor of Melville gave an address of welcome, or the Victoria Park Brass Band led the parade or that Australian Air Force Cadets from 703 Squadron formed the Guard of Honour, or the One Accord Choir participated or that…

Such an important event in the life and times of the City of Melville deserved a better reporting… and not even a photograph.

Poor show, Mr Editor.
