AS a new resident in Leeming, I was recently astounded at the high level of customer service I received from the council’s works department.

Using their online reporting system, I informed the council about a pothole that had been created from recent rains and suggested that they fix it before it got any larger.

The very next day, that pothole and other cracks in the road were marked out with white paint.

The day after that, a council representative phoned to let me know that they had surveyed the damage and would fix the road within one to two weeks.

He politely explained the work that would be done and thanked me for contacting the council.

Three days later, the pothole was filled.

I applaud the council for its prompt and professional response. Well done.
