Anode for you to call All Anodes

IF you own a gas, electric or solar storage hot water system that is more than four years old, its tank may be in danger of rusting out, says All Anode Replacements owner Dennis Warburton.

Most storage hot water systems have an anode in them.

It’s a metal rod, usually magnesium, installed inside the tank so that it is immersed in the water.

The anode then attracts all the rust to itself so it corrodes away instead of the tank, generally lasting for about four years.

Once the anode is gone, the tank will start rusting, and it is only a matter of time before it fails and you will need to replace the whole system as it is not possible to just replace the tank.

“Replacing the anode can more than double the life of your hot water system with more than 90 per cent of hot water systems failing because anode replacement has been neglected,” Mr Warburton said.

“By simply replacing the anode, you can save more than $1000 by not having to replace the whole system.

“A new anode fully installed is typically less than $200, and many of them are much less than that.”

All Anode Replacements offer obligation free inspections.

If your anode does not need changing, there is no charge for the visit and no call out fee.
