TWO local girls have returned home after a tough week of lacrosse in Victoria.

Kardinya’s Apryl Richards, a midfielder with the East Fremantle Lacrosse Club, and her cousin, Palmyra’s Skylar Leavy, a midfielder for the Phoenix Lacrosse Club, took part in the Australian Lacrosse Association’s Under-15 national tournament.

The week-long event was held at Footscray Hockey Centre.

Apryl was part of the WA Stars who finished second in Pool A and finished just outside the medals in fourth.

Skylar was a member of the WA Flames, the State’s second team, which was third in Pool B and finished as the country’s sixth best team.

The tournament was taken out by Victorian Fire, which beat South Australia Storm 11-7 in the final.

In the boys division, WA’s Northern Thunder finished fourth and WA’s Southern Braves finished fifth. Victoria’s Southern Crosse won the tournament.
