SEVERAL Bull Creek Tennis Club members were a part of a women’s team that shone on the national level.

Rosemary Dunn, Annette Myors, Nita Kirwan-Ward and Judy Hawrylak were a part of the WA’s 55-60 div.2 female team, which claimed gold at the National Seniors Tennis Championships in Shepparton, Victoria.

The team was rounded out by St Joseph Pignatelli Tennis Club member Debbie Cummings and Sorrento Tennis Club member Jince Hipsley.

Bull Creek Tennis Club member Don Scott was in the victorious 80 and over men’s team which beat New South Wales in the final.

Team captain Dunn said they had a great experience during the tournament.

“It feels fantastic, I’ve been doing it 11 years and it’s my first gold medal,” she said.

“As captain I do try and organise training sessions and we play in pennants against each other during the season so we were well prepared.”

Myors said Dunn had completed a good job as captain, as she rotated players depending on the style of player they were competing against.

WA will host the 2020 edition of the championships in Busselton and Bunbury.
