ON Saturday two Booragoon Junior Football Club Year 8 teams faced off in what may have been the only derby grand final in Australia.
In a pulsating, high-quality game Booragoon Blues overcame Booragoon Whites 4.4 (28) to 3.5 (23).
Whites had control of the ball in the first half but could not convert possession into points.
In a back and forth final quarter that saw three lead changes, Whites kicked three quick goals to get their noses in front before Blues scored in the final minutes through best-on-ground Sam Grattidge to snatch the win and claim the East Fremantle District Year 8 flag.
