Football: Melville Rams not good enough to match Kingsway

KINGSWAY’S Scott Chave kicked four goals to sink Melville 11.18 (84) to 8.8 (56) at Kingsway Reserve on Saturday.

The Rams started the game with good intent and challenged Kingsway across the park but did themselves no favours by consistently giving up the ball in crucial situations.

The costly turnovers resulted in four of Kingsway’s six goals but Melville managed to hang tough and entered the half time break narrowly trailing their fifth-placed hosts.

Unfortunately, the wheels fell of in the second half with Kingsway kicking away to a comfortable victory, thanks largely to the boots of Scott Chave and Brennan Pearce who combined for seven goals.

Aiden Anthony, Simon Plover and Connor Hagen were best on ground for the Rams, who remain bottom of the ladder and must start finding wins soon to avoid relegation to WAAFL C-Grade.
