Hockey: First win of the season for Melville City

Melville City Hockey Club finally broke through for their first win of the season on Saturday with a comprehensive 8-0 victory over newly promoted North Coast Raiders.

Needing a win after five consecutive losses, Melville were never troubled by the Raiders.

Josh Byrne-Quinn and Nick Tate both scored hat tricks, and the scoring was rounded out with goals to Matt Tate and stand-in captain Ross Hall.

Coach Russell Lee said he was happy with the win but that his team still had a lot of work to do.
