Master of swimming for years is honoured

Mr Medcalf recently received an Honour Award for 15 years� service to Masters Swimming WA.

The former State coach in 1989, 1996 and 1997 has served MSWA in many areas, including his technical officiating role as referee since 2002, and his numerous presentations at technical officials� courses and workshops over the years.

Masters swimming clubs are open to anyone aged 18 and over who can swim a few laps. A recent survey of present Masters swimming members showed the ability to get fit in a friendly environment and its social aspect were the best parts of belonging to their club.

"Swimming is great exercise. It is low impact but can have big results, with both mental and physical benefits," Masters Swimming WA executive officer Wendy Holtom said.
