FORMER member services officer Matthew Espie has been appointed the new general manager of Melville Glades Golf Club.
Mr Espie has spent more than six years working in the local golf industry, beginning at Golf WA before joining Melville Glades 18 months ago.
He will form part of an experienced management team at the club, working alongside head golf professional Ritchie Smith, course superintendent Dane McBridge and house manager Mitchell Ryan.
Club president Gary Allomes said Mr Espie’s appointment was exciting news for the club.
“Matt brings strong business and golf-related skills to his new position, and in conjunction with the club’s board of management, will lead Melville Glades Golf Club to achieve significant growth targets in both membership numbers and revenues through the club’s Future Development Plan,” he said.
“The board is very excited about Matt’s appointment and what he will be able to contribute in positioning Melville Glades as a leading private golf club in metropolitan Perth.”
Located in Leeming, Melville Glades Golf Club boasts more than 1100 members.
Mr Espie is both a capable golfer and current Premier Grade player for the North Coast Raiders Hockey Club.
