FOUR junior stars from the Melville Roar Athletics Club stars have been named in the WA team that will compete in the Australian Cross Country Championships on the Sunshine Coast.
Ky Hehir (12), Thomas Millard (13), Jessica Millard (10) and Josh Kelly (10) will travel east to compete on August 25.
Ky’s mother Leanne Hehir said the athletes raced McGillivray Oval in May to qualify for the championships.

READ NOW“The length of their races will depend on their ages, whether it is 2km or more or less,” she said.
“They are all excited about the opportunity, it’s a chance to compete at a higher level.
“They train at their schools, as part of the State Team and I also organise some private sessions as well.”
The City of Melville and Olympia Little Athletics Club, which is a part of the Melville Roar Athletics Club, both put $100 to help with the travel and fees associated with competing in the Nationals.
Hehir said they were appreciative of the assistance that they received.
