A SOCCERED goal on the siren handed Melville Rams a heartbreaking 11.14 (80) to 11.12 (78) loss to Kingsway at Melville Reserve on Saturday.

The opening quarter was an arm wrestle with wayward kicking costing both sides before the Rams found their range in the second quarter to head into half time three goals up.

However, the game broke open in the third quarter with Kingsway booting four unanswered goals before Melville got one back.

Some fantastic footy was on display from both sides in a pulsating last term and it seemed the Rams had done enough before a stoppage in the Kingsway 50 resulted in a kick off the ground as the siren sounded to seal victory for the Roos.

Melville skipper Cameron Plover was fantastic racking up contested footy and clearances at will and East Fremantle product Jordan Williamson gathered plenty of the footy and used it well all day.

Young Bohdie Corner was given an opportunity on debut in the ruck and formed an impressive combination with Connor Faulds, the pair providing first use of the ball all around the ground.

The Melville Colts notched their second win of the season with an impressive 11.10 (76) to 5.14 (44) victory while the reserves were again outplayed in a comprehensive 24.11 (155) to 1.4 (10) loss.
