MELVILLE is playing for nothing but pride when it squares off with Scarborough in a one-day fixture to conclude the Premier Cricket regular season at Tompkins Park on Saturday.
The Storm fell an agonising five runs short chasing 305 against Subiaco-Floreat last weekend, dropping the team to seventh on the First Grade ladder.
Melville trails the sixth-placed Lions by nine points and with just six points available on Saturday the Storm have already been eliminated from finals contention.
Brad Thompson’s men will be determined to end the season on a high note and eighth-placed Scarborough presents a tricky challenge.
