Premier Grade: Palmyra win again

PALMYRA continued its early dominance of the Premier Grade competition with a 18-13 victory over University at Tompkins Park on Saturday.

Back rowers Levi Auvae and Pau Halafihi laid the foundations for with win with some strong running in attack and consistent effort in defence.

Hooker Shane Manu, winger Onehunga Havilli and outside centre Manihera Eden all crossed for Palmyra and while all the conversions were missed inside centre Jackson Neilson did add a penalty.

In a successful day for the club all grades were victorious, including the women’s Palmyra Phoenix which opened its account with a comprehensive 79-0 dismantling of Southern Lions.

Palmyra dropped to second on the ladder besides the also unbeaten Nedlands.

Palmyra leads the second grade, fourth grade and under-20 competitions and as a club has won 15 of the 18 senior games it has played so far this season.
