The budding tennis stars from Years 5, 6 and 7 won the 2013 competition after finishing runner-up last year.

School principal Denise Hilsz said it was a fantastic effort from all three of the school’s teams that entered the metropolitan competition. Taking on schools from across metropolitan Perth, the Winthrop PS girl’s team won several matches on the day to claim the title and take home a silver plate each.

‘All of the players in the team put in lots of extra practice before school and on the weekends,’ Ms Hilsz said.
