Rugby Union: Palmyra make it four in a row

PALMYRA rolled to its fourth straight victory with a crushing 53-8 defeat of Wanneroo at Tompkins Park on Saturday.

The victory marks Palmyra’s most successful start to a season since 2009 when the Palms also started with four straight wins.

Full back Mani Eden led the scorers with two superb individual tries from distance, both times cutting through the Wanneroo defence with ease.

Pau Halafihi, Onehunga Havilli, Michael Fotu, Panashe Kamhara, Isaac Mariner and Jared Trevathan also crossed for Palmyra with Trevathan adding three conversions and Eden one.

Palmyra remains second on the ladder behind Nedlands, which thrashed Perth Bayswater 89-12, and travels to third-placed Wests Scarborough this weekend.

The Palmyra reserves, thirds, fourths and colt all won their games against Wanneroo securing a second consecutive clean sweep for the club.
