The top of the ladder clash became a non-event with Mitchal Ainsworth leading the way for the victors scoring four goals. Fellow Melville team, the Saints, also came out with a win defeating Dolphins 13-8. Michael Altien, Jack Collier and Marko Bratic all finished with two goals respectively. Melville had the better of three of the four quarters to take the honours.

The surprise came from bottom of the ladder Triton, downing Phantoms 21-13.

Triton will face Melville Sharks at Beatty Park on Tuesday night.

In the women’s matches, as expected City Beach comfortably defeated Triton 17-5. It was a goal fest with Kami Craig and Claire Rechichi displaying their skill and power scoring four goals each.

At the Bicton pool, both Melville sides battled it out with the Sharks thrashing the Saints 20-5. Shark Gemma Beadsworth continued her dominant form finding the net seven times, while Kelly Parks followed closely behind netting five.

This week, Melville Saints will host top of the ladder City Beach at Bicton. Beach will be looking to keep their unbeaten record while second placed Melville Sharks will be hoping to take top spot facing the Dolphins.
