MURDOCH University Melville FC president Dave Kindness says the recruitment of Mark Jones will help take the club to the next level.
Jones – who arrived at the State League Division 2 set-up in late 2017 – has slotted into the role of technical director.
His extensive history in the game includes 10 years as a player and close to 30 as a coach, with stints in the A-League and at international level with the Asian Football Confederation.

“I showed him the dream, you might say, and he saw potential in a club of our size,” Kindness said of the pair’s early chats.
“He was over the top of what I expected we could get.”
Jones, who as late as last May was head coach of the Newcastle Jets, said he was keen to help both coaches and players.
“We have a curriculum mapping out what to do. With respect to that I want to show more specifically how and why we do things,” he said.
The former Perth Glory assistant said he was happy to be back in WA in a role that will develop young players and utilise his experience to “coach coaches”.
