A NUMBER of Swan River Rowing Club (SRRC) rowers and head coach Antonio Maurogiovanni have been selected in Australian teams.

The club is also hosting an Australian under-23 team, which will train out of the club’s shed next to Canning Bridge.

SRRC’s David Watts has been selected in a double scull, and will row in World Cups two and three, to be held in Switzerland from May 27 to 29, and Poland from June 17 to 19.

Alexandra Hagan is in the eight which will compete at the final Olympic qualification regatta in Switzerland from May 22 to 24.

Former Swan Joshua Hicks, now based in Sydney, will take his place in the men’s eight at the same regatta.

SRRC’s Sam Marsh has been named in the under-21 team that will take on New Zealand in the Trans-Tasman regatta.

It is split over two legs, the first in Sydney at the end of June and the second in Lake Karapiro, New Zealand in September.

Maurogiovanni has been named coach of the Australian under-23 men’s quadruple scull, and the team will train out of the SRRC shed in preparation for the championships in Rotterdam in August.

The under-23 quad is Caleb Antill, from Australian National University Boat Club, Luke Letcher, from Black Mountain Rowing Club in Canberra, and Thomas Schramko and Robert Black from Mosman Rowing Club, Sydney.
