Proving dreams do come true, the Palmyra resident returned home with his second Laser Radial Men’s World Championship title.
Brown was one of 90 competitors in the event and said the competition was tough but satisfying.
‘It is something I have worked very hard for, so to accomplish my goal was a really good feeling,’ he said.
‘I have now won the championships twice in a row; however, this one was more satisfying because it was always going to be harder to back it up the second time as you definitely have a target on your back.
‘I think this time was probably more special because it was won on European waters against very tough competition.’
Another FSC sailor, 17-year-old Matthew Wearn, finished seventh and was the first Australian in the Laser European Championship, backing up his world ranking position of fourth in the open category.
