LIFE is a diligent balancing act for junior triathlon champion Taylor Kroyer.

The Corpus Christi College student recently won the 2017-18 Australian Youth and Junior Triathlon Series for 15-16 year olds, with an impressive final-round performance also securing her the Youth and Junior Australian Championship.

Held in Perth on the Labour Day weekend, the final round included a 350m swim, 12km bike ride and 2.5km run.

Kroyer said all went to plan.

“Overall my plan was just to race smart and focus on getting all the little things right,” she said.

“During the race I stuck to my plan which worked out really well in the end and I was lucky enough to not have any major difficulties.”

The 15-year-old said her school had supported her balancing an education while also following her passion.

“It’s definitely a bit tricky to manage school work with all the travel but I am lucky enough to be a part of a school which gives me opportunities to catch up and I make sure all my school work is up to date before I travel and do some work whilst travelling to my races,” she said.
