A SCINTILLATING batting display from Fraser Hay led Melville to a promising win over a gallant Wanneroo.

The youngster showed his power-hitting potential as he smashed nine sixes on his way to 116 from 74 balls.

The brilliant middle-order player was well supported by skipper Tom Scollay (46) and import Angus Robson (56), as the Storm posted an imposing total of 5-295.

Kyle Millar was the pick of the Roos bowlers with two wickets.

Englishman Dan Lawrence did his best to better Hay, as he cracked 140 from 102 balls in response.

Lawrence had little support though and his side fell short by just three runs in an instant classic.

Mark Turner took two scalps for the Storm, while Adam Voges managed a wicket and 31 on his winning return to Premier Cricket.
