Bryce LuffMelville Gazette

LUKE Towers scored 74 and Thomas Kerr-Sheppard snagged four wickets and a run-out to guide Melville to a three wicket win over Scarborough in its 2017-18 Premier Cricket season opener at Tompkins Park on Saturday.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl, Melville was able to restrict Scarborough to 181 from 49.3 overs.

Scarborough’s number three Nicholas Maiolo offered the most resistance, crunching seven boundaries before he was run out by Kerr-Sheppard for 68 from 88 deliveries.
