ADAM Voges hit his second consecutive century to save Melville from complete embarrassment against a gallant University at James Oval in Premier Cricket on Saturday.

WA captain Voges compiled a careful 102 from 190 balls including eight fours and two sixes to scrap his side to 187 all out.

It could have been a lot worse for the Storm, who were decimated early to be reeling at 4-29 before Voges’ intervention.

Matt Wiley was the only other batsman to show any fight with 44, while Drew Porter could only manage 15 after last week’s heroics.

Ryan Duffield and Tom Kerr-Sheppard could not break through late in the day as University finished up 0-17 from six overs at stumps.
