FIVE schools from the Forrestfield electorate will benefit from $370,000 worth of renovations as part of an additional maintenance funding program for public schools.
Darling Range Sports College, East Kenwick Primary School, Forrestfield Primary School, Kenwick School and Maida Vale Primary School will receive funding for facility upgrades including toilet refreshment, exterior painting and upgraded shading for playgrounds.
Forrestfield MLA Nathan Morton said the upgrades were welcome.
“Maintenance of our schools, a multi-billion dollar asset, is ongoing and this funding is in addition to the budget allocated every year to continually improve,” he said.
The money became available through budget savings in the Education Department.
Mr Morton said work would be completed over the next six to eight months.
This announcement follows a recent commitment for a $1.4 million upgrade of the administration facility at Woodlupine Primary School.
