Arson detectives investigate Midland unit fire

ARSON Squad detectives are investigating a fire at a unit on Kay Place in Midland earlier this month.

The February 1 blaze started about 1am when fire bugs set alight items stored under a plastic roof.

It spread to the laundry and kitchen areas.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the fire which caused about $50,000 damage.

Several people driving past the unit saw the fire and called emergency services.

Detectives would like to speak to them and obtain any dash cam footage.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of an arsonist.
