Swan Mayor assault: Warren Jeater pleads guilty at Midland Magistrates Court

A MIDLAND court heard today that the pensioner convicted over an attack on City of Swan Mayor David Lucas has a history of criminal damage.

Warren Jeater faced the Midland Magistrates Court this afternoon charged with assaulting a person performing a public function and unlawful damage.

The 67-year-old entered pleas of guilty to both charges, with his lawyer requesting the matter be postponed so a pre-sentence report could be prepared.

His lawyer said the allegations were “quite serious” and that given his client had “some history” of criminal damage he sought a six-week adjournment.

Magistrate Kevin Tavener granted the adjournment and reminded Jeater that he was on bail and to not get himself in any trouble.

Jeater is due to be sentenced in Midland Magistrates Court on September 27.
