Sarah BrookesMidland Kalamunda Reporter

A DANGEROUS intersection in High Wycombe will be upgraded after the City of Kalamunda was successful in getting a $181,620 National Black Spot Grant.

The grant will fund the upgrade of the Kalamunda Road/Newburn Road/Chipping Drive intersection in High Wycombe subject to community endorsement.

Main Roads crash summary reports show that in the five years to the end of December 2015 there were 48 crashes at the intersection.

Mayor John Giardina said the City was seeking the community’s feedback on the proposed upgrades, which include improvements to the roundabout entry and exits.

“Road user safety is a key priority for the City and the grant from the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program will help improve safety for all,” he said.
