Father almost loses hand in Samurai sword attack in Midland

A FATHER is recovering in hospital this morning after he almost lost his hand in a Samurai sword attack.

The 42-year-old has undergone seven hours of surgery at Royal Perth Hospital to reattach his hand and is now in a stable condition.

The incident occurred at a park in Midland on Saturday afternoon.

It is believe he got into an argument with a group of people who had been hooning around on motorbikes, endangering young children.

One of the men then allegedly cut his hand with the sword, almost severing his wrist.

Police are still looking for the group involved.
