Female teacher charged with host of sex offences against student

POLICE have charged a 26-year-old female teacher with a raft of sex offences against a female student of hers.

It will be alleged the woman committed 23 offences against the girl – who was aged 15 at the time of the first offence – between July 2015 and May 2016.

The offences were reported to police last Friday night, and the woman was arrested on Saturday.

The woman has been charged with 15 counts of sexual penetration of a child over 13 and under 16 years of age and two counts of sexual penetration of a child over 16 years under their authority.

She has also been charged with five counts of indecently dealing with a child over 13 years and under 16 years of age, and one count of persistent sexual conduct with a child under 16 years of age.

She is due to appear in the Midland Magistrates Court on 14 June 2016.
