HOMEOWNERS can learn how to effectively irrigate their gardens and lawn at a free workshop in Midland next month.
The Water Corporation and South Metropolitan Tafe have collaborated to deliver a series of water wise irrigation workshops across Perth.
With more than 40 per cent of household water usage occurring outside the home, Water Minister Mia Davies encouraged people to take part.
“Water use peaks as the weather heats up, so it is important irrigation systems are programmed to ensure every drop of water used is effective,” she said.
“We all have a responsibility to use water wisely and I encourage the community to take part in this great program and help save water.”
The workshops will teach participants about choosing the right irrigation systems, efficient irrigation of lawns and gardens, subsurface watering and how to use irrigation controllers.
It will be held from 9am on Saturday, November 5.
