BRITISH comedian Nick Hunter is bringing his show Head Case to Midland next month as part of the Fringe World Festival.

Hunter said after many years as an unsuccessful musician and several failed hair transplants, he decided to take up comedy because at many of the shows there is a risk of him being either shouted at or something being thrown at him so it’s the only place he feels truly comfortable. He added comedy helped him talk about how damaged he was. “In my early years mum used to hang out my washing in the middle of the freezing Northamptonshire English winters, making it extremely difficult to wear underwear while walking to school,” he said.

“So I stayed at home in front of a single bar gas fire and survived on tea and toast.”

Hunter said audiences should be prepared for a night of jovial wit and advice on hair care not usually available at this sort of venue.“This is a great opportunity to bring live comedy to Midland and hopefully this will kick start a trend in Midland so it brings more diverse entertainment to the area,” he said.
