Funds for Midland and Northam groups to help prevent suicides

The Midland-based Mental Illness Fellowship of WA (MIFWA) Inc will receive $19,159 to train adults, families and carers who have experience of mental illness, alcohol and other drug issues and trauma.

Avivo will receive $19,900 to provide training to high-risk groups in the Wheatbelt. CY O’|Connor Institute will receive $20,000 to train community leaders in mental health first aid.

The Mental Health Commission funding targets high-risk groups such as Aboriginal communities, people in regional areas, young people, and culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
